Lastest jQuery Version

Hi,
When I run some web page audits, I'm triggering notification warnings that my version of jQuery 1.12.4, is out of date, and could be used to compromise my site. Although this isn't theme specific, using an updated jQuery Version, may break the theme, hence I wanted to check if doing so was OK?

Hello, I have the same problem. WebPageTest says my JQuerry version 1.12.4 is outdated.
How can I update it?

simplest way is to use the jQuery updater plugin:
I used the plugin. But the error still shows up on my screen.
You may need to report that to the plugin author.
WordPress itself uses an old version of jQuery (although I believe they're updating it in 5.5).
