Just Use Side menu

I have two questions about the side/slide menu.
1) Is there a way to JUST use this slide menu? I noticed when I don't have the primary menu set to something that the 'slide' menu icon goes away. Seems like the slide menu is contingent somehow on having a regular menu as well?
2) if that cannot be done how can I acheive a look like elevationchurch.org where the main menu is centered and the slide area is floating to the right?
3) if it can be done, how can I add the word Menu beside the slide area?
Hi Andrew,
You should just be able to create a blank menu (no items) and set it as your primary menu.
Then enable the slideout menu and you should be good to go.
