Hi there,
I have just bought the theme but in Docs there is no instruction on how to install the theme.
Only instructions are how to install the plugin and to install woocommerce before that.
Where are the instructions on the theme?
Theme download?March 9, 2020 at 5:12 am #1189470DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
first install the theme:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-generatepress/then install GeneratePress Premium plugin:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/Hope that helps π
March 9, 2020 at 7:13 am #1189718VladicaOkay, thanks.
That wasn’t really obvious and its not written anywhere that you should install free theme and then install the plugin which will enable you to activate the theme options and import the demo content.
I bought the theme so I can build the website that is fast. So I am looking to achieve more than 95% score (preferably to 100).
I also need to use the page builder of a kind and slider for a home page.
So what page builder do you recommend with the theme and what slider so I can achieve the high speed on the site?March 9, 2020 at 8:04 am #1189780LeoStaffCustomer SupportPage builders and sliders are two common plugins that tend to slow your site down.
My recommendation would be Beaver Builder for page builder and Smart Slider 3 for sliders.
March 9, 2020 at 11:04 am #1189980VladicaOk, thanks. Do you have tutorials on how to edit the theme without page builder?
March 9, 2020 at 11:06 am #1189982LeoStaffCustomer SupportOur documentation explains every option in the theme and premium plugin:
https://docs.generatepress.com/Is there a specific part you’d like more information on?
Let me know π
March 9, 2020 at 1:30 pm #1190092VladicaWell I installed the demo and instead of an image on the home page I would like to put a simple css slider.
But now I am not sure how is that main image displayed on the page.March 9, 2020 at 1:52 pm #1190109LeoStaffCustomer SupportAre you talking about the image with the surfer?
If so that’s done with the header element module:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/If you want to use a slider instead, try creating one with Smart Slider 3 and add the shortcode as the header element content as instructed here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/how-to-create-a-page-hero/#step-1-add-the-contentMarch 11, 2020 at 6:31 am #1191786VladicaThanks, now I am getting there.
Sorry where is the info on how to make the logo centered in header?
Also will I be able to put the search in the header and some info?March 11, 2020 at 10:45 am #1192173DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you can set the Customizer > Layout > Header –> Header Alignment to Center:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-layout-overview/
There is also the Customizer > Widgets > Header Widget you can add a Search Widget and other content to.
March 11, 2020 at 11:28 am #1192191VladicaOk thanks, I got it.
Now I have put two widgets in a header but they appear only on the right side.
Is there a way to put a widget on the left side of the logo as well?
Also the widgets on the right have pushed the logo to left (for their width). Is this something I should adjust with css? Also I would like to ask you.
On that site I have removed Padding on ‘Home Hero’ header but when I resize the header to phone size there is a a lot of padding top and bottom and I don’t know where it comes from. Its not from the slider and ‘Home Hero’ heading does not have padding settings for different screen sizes? Thanks π
