This is driving me crazy. I don’t think it is a GP issue, but maybe Tom or someone else can help. If you go to this post at my site: http://miramichireader.ca/2015/06/ray-fraser-interview/ and click on the Google+ share button, do you see a Kobo ereader ad instead of the post’s featured image? I have cleared my caches, cookies everything. I tried changing the sharing plugin and the featured image but that @#$% Kobo ad still appears. Where is this ad being grabbed from? Help!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI see the featured image.
To be sure, you can always use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wonderm00ns-simple-facebook-open-graph-tags/
It should take the featured image and make sure social sites use it.

Thanks Tom. I’m glad I am not crazy! So do I still need to use a sharing plugin along with this one?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYea, this plugin just sets the invisible tags that make sure the sharing sites use the right image 🙂

Unfortunately I am still seeing the Kobo ad and I can’t understand where the code for the ad is being pulled from. It doesn’t happen with other posts on the site.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperCan you take a screenshot possibly?

Did you want a screenshot of the ad on the google + popup window?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThat’s bizarre, no idea what’s going on there.
Your meta tag for the page image is set to: http://miramichireader.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/raymondFB2015-e1433808291478.jpg
When I click share, that’s the image I see.
Maybe get some friends to give it a try as well?

It was actually the interviewee that brought it to my attention when he tried to share it on Google+. At one time I did have that ad in my sidebar, but I removed it thinking that the image it was being grabbed from there. Thanks for looking into it for me Tom.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou may just need to empty your cache then, as it didn’t show up for me 🙂
