Is there a way to make the featured image of the post bigger and lower the post?

I dont know if I am going to be clear here but I pushed changes from my staging site to live site and everything is how I want it except the featured image on the posts are way too small.The post meta with the author name and date are at the bottom but if I make the featured image bigger the post meta is basically in the middle. Is there a way to update that?
I drew an illustration to show what I want. I want the featured image to be full width and the post meta ti be partially overlapping at the very bottom.
Hi Heath,
You may want to consider moving the post meta and the title to a separate container outside of the container block holding the featured image.
You then add a negative margin top to this separate container block so it partly overlays the image container block. :D
