Is building a site offline & move it to online the best practice? How to do it?

Hello,

Pardon me. I’ve just started building my site and completed only 2% of it. Now I feel that I should build it offline to avoid making interruptions to others if someone goes then online. Am I thinking in the right way? Should I build it offline and then move it online? Does it affect SEO? How to do that? Do most people do it? What is the best practice?

Hi there,

simplest thing to do is install a Maintenance Mode / Coming Soon Plugin.
This will stop users from visiting the site and more importantly stop Search Engines from indexing the site.

When it's ready simply deactivate the coming soon.
