Hi
Are you going to add Infinite Scroll to GeneratePress in the future? I read about people who started using infinite scroll on their posts and they saw a tremendous improvement in bounce rate and time on site + better revenue.
I know that I could use a plugin to add this feature but I’m trying to avoid installing plugins. It would be better if it was a built-in feature in the theme.
I also know that there are existing themes with this feature, but I started using GeneratePress not a long time ago and don’t want to change the themes again.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Currently, we don’t have any plans to add the infinite scroll options to single posts.
I read about people who started using infinite scroll on their posts and they saw a tremendous improvement in bounce rate and time on site + better revenue.
Maybe try installing a plugin for it and see if you notice any differences?
Code is code – it doesn’t matter if it’s added in the theme or a separate plugin, it’s still code.
Worth a shot in my opinion 🙂

Hi,
I, too, was looking for the same feature. Is there way I can add an enhancement request for this feature? I’m sure many users of generatepress woyuld want an option of infinite scroll in posts as it does improve the time spent on the site by the user.
Since there’s already an option to do this for pages, why not add this for posts?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
GP doesn’t add infinite scroll to Pages, that i assume you must have a plugin or code that is generating that…. or do you mean the post archives where it is a highly used feature.
We prioritise theme updates based on several factors. A few of major ones are:
User demand, and although there are a number of requests here, the demand as yet is not that great. The majority of users don’t have this as a requirement
Does the request provide more than a single feature? In this instance, no.
Is there a plugin option available? In this instance there is.Which currently leaves it at a low priority, but we’ll keep it under consideration.

Got it, thanks for your detailed reply.
Can you please suggest a plugin that adds infinite scroll to articles? I have got one to do it on the front page of the website but not for individual articles.

Thanks, I have already installed the “auto load next post” plugin. However, I’m not sure what to add in its “post navigation” settings. I think this means that it will auto load the post that the theme will show as a “next read”. However, Generatepress doesn’t have the option to show next posts, right?
I tried adding another plugin called “Yet Another Related Posts Plugin” but the infinite scroll still doesn’t work.

StaffCustomer SupportI just had a look at the plugin settings and all of the default values it has are correct for the GP Theme.
You must have the Post Navigation is enabled in Customizer > Layout > Blog >>> Posts for it to work.August 11, 2021 at 3:25 am #1891718Devansh
I have turned on the post navigation settings. However, my articles are loading side by side and not one after another!
I have attached a screenshot for you to see: screenshotAugust 11, 2021 at 4:02 am #1891760David
