Infinite scroll, footer widgets, and reading setttings

Hi. I searched in the docs but could not find how infinite scroll on mobiles and desktops actually works with the footer widgets and reading settings of a number of posts on the blog pages.
Is there any sense of using footer widgets if infinite scroll is on?
Will Reading Settings -> Blog pages show at most xx posts, be bypassed if infinite scroll is on?
Does infinite scroll always show a load more button on both mobiles and desktop with every single scroll or only once and then infinite scroll?
