Increase Recent Posts on Side Menu + on Blog Archives Page

How can I go about displaying several posts on the Blog Archives Page, instead of just one?

Also, I would like the Recent Post Menu in the right sidebar to display for than one recent post, which is what it's currently doing.

Right now, on the blog archives page, the post shows like this, taking up only half of the space available It looks a bit odd. Can i either increase the side or make it so that more than one post appears?
