    Hi there,

I have just installed WP for a new website an followed the steps to install the generatepress theme and the generatepress pro plugin. I then activated the starter templates modules and imported the starter template of choice. I chose to import the template and the demo content. However, when I open the site, there are no images and everything looks out of place on the homepage.

I cleared the cache and tried different browsers, including incognito and private windows.

    What could I be missing?

    Thanks!

    Hi Marlieke,

For reference, can you provide the link to the site in question?

You may use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

    Hi there,

so something on your site messed up the data during the import process.
Were there any other plugins installed when you done the import?
And was there any cache or CDN enabled ?

    Hi David,

I don’t think so as it’s a new site. I installed WordPress, then I chose the Generatepress theme and the next thing I did was install the Generatepress Pro plugin. I haven’t touched any other plugins/setttings/etc.

The only plugins that were activated were the Siteground default plugins.

The only plugins that were activated were the Siteground default plugins.

Can you disable those plugins to test? They could be the types of plugins David mentioned.

We didn’t get a link to your site either.

I can also not import a starter template on a fresh WordPress install using the latest generate press theme and GP premium plugin versions. The install of the starter template never completes. I have tried using “Local” on my laptop and on a fresh wordops site with no plugins or caching.

I tried deactivating the plugins first and then installing the template, but it’s still the same. The link was shared in the private information, so I’ll put it here now, in case it didn’t came through: http://kualalumpurwithkids.com
    Thanks!

    Hi Marlieke,

i assume you have no content on your site and are ok to reset the site?

if so can you speak with Siteground, and ask them to reset the install, and then DISABLE all server side caches.
and then retry the site import.

    Hi Robert,

can you raise a new topic so we can look at your issue in detail.

    Hi Robert,

Followed up, cleared all cache, removed the template, deactivated all plugins but GP Pro and Starter Library, and installed the template again. Still the same issue.

Got in touch with Siteground as well, but still didn’t manage to install the template.

I suppose removing WordPress and starting from scratch doesn’t make a difference as it’s a new site and I already started from scratch, so I’ll just be repeating yesterday’s steps.

Happy to share a login as there’s no content on WP yet – if you want to have a look?

    Hi Marlieke,

    Yes, that may help.

Can you provide admin login credentials?

Please use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

Also, let us know if we can try to import a template?

Can you disable “Starter Templates” plugin first?

    Alright, that’s done.

I was able to import a template.

The issue seems to have been because of the “Starter Templates” plugin.
