[Support request] Import site library settings

Hi,

I have purchased generate press theme and wanted to import a style from the site library.

When I selected a design from there, I got two options:
1. Import just settings
2. Import with Data

As I have an established website (https://jobznewz.com/) so I have gone with just import settings. But it didn’t provide me with a hope page design, just some font changes and nothing else.

I know, if I go with data, it imports everything, but you can lose your data.

Can you please help me in this regard?

I just want complete settings along with the homepage designed as shown in the site library. But I don’t want to lose my posts.

Hi there,

for existing sites we recommend that your make a backup / clone or staging copy of your site. And perform the Site Library install on that copy.

You will need to Import the Data ( Content ) as it will contain block elements that are required to create the design.

When you import the data you’re existing data WILL NOT be lost.

The new site:

1. will import pages and posts that you will need to delete.
2. Import and update the logos, that will need changing to your logos
3. replace any Widgets ( if applicable ) on the site, that will need updating.

I would also recommend if you have added any CSS to the Customizer > Additional CSS that you make a copy of that for safe keeping.
