Image size in post hero background images

Hello!
Trying to get the file size down for the featured images which are being added to the background of a container through a page hero element. I followed the directions in this support topic: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/post-hero-image-loads-full-size-image/ but looking at the page source, the full image URL seems to still be loading on mobile. I've cleared caches, etc.
Can you help? Link in private area.

did you find an alternative solution ? as I see some responsive preloading of that image.

Maybe it's working now and I didn't realize it. I was getting a "POOR" LCP score but it seems ok now. If there is a better way to accomplish the same header, let me know. I have GP Pro and GerateBlocks Pro.

For that kind of hero, the background image works bests, and you're preload method is the best solution to improve the LCP :)
