Image Caption Hover recommendation?

I am recreating https://www.bauertree.com/ in GeneratePress https://wordpress-488808-1572015.cloudwaysapps.com/ and the client really likes the image hover effect on the current site and I am looking for a replacement way to add captions on hovering over an image, hopefully with Gutenberg and not shortcodes but shortcodes are fine.
