Idea Theme customization settings do not work
17 replies · Started by Ivars on February 22, 2022
Hi,
When I go to customize and change site identity and other items they do not appear on the home page. The customization page looks messed up. I tried resetting customizations and it only changed some theme basic formats and colors of the theme and actually none of the customizations. I have deleted and reinstalled Generatepress and premium as well as the theme but the customizations do not change. What I want to achieve is to reduce the size of the title "ORIM Engineering Inc." that is at the left end of the header.
I am running a Seedprod under construction page that is live and have all of the idea theme pages set as draft. Not sure if this affects the Generatepress theme.
login credentials for support are in the private info section.
Thanks
Hi there,
I just logged in and am not sure if I'm seeing the issue.
The site title is already updated and the rest of the site looks normal:

If you are still having an issue, can you disable all plugins except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks to test first?
Let me know :)
You are correct.
But, "ORIM Enineering INc." at the top left is too large for the mobile site and I cannot find how to change it. Site name under customizations does not do anything. Also, the logo under site identity does not appear anywhere. Do I have any real control over these items? Please look at the customization page.

Please look at the customization page.
I don't have the access to the customizer. Can you assign admin access to the login provided?
Let me know :)
Sorry, my mistake..... missed by one button. Should be administrator now.

Hmm something isn't quite right for sure.
Can you disable all plugins except GP premium and GenerateBlocks to test first?
Let me know :)
Hi,
No difference. All plugins disabled. I refreshed the WP chrome page but have not logged out of WP or or tried anything else to refresh the site.
If no other ideas......
Is there a way to maybe uninstall wordpress and reinstall it?

Very strange indeed.
Any server-level caching or optimization built-in?
I have all of two weeks experience programming a website.
I have no idea if the host (easydns.com) provides server level caching. I have not seen or implemented anything like that.
As for optimization.... no idea

Hi Ivars,
I'm not sure why, but the settings at customizer > homepage settings are blank.

Can you try choose homeas the homepage and projectas the posts page?
Hi,
I set the pages as requested. No change. BTW, I do not want a posts page. THe IDea theme does not have a posts and I do not want to post.

THe IDea theme does not have a posts and I do not want to post.
The idea theme comes with some posts and a the blog page (projects).
If you don't want a post page, you can leave the posts page field blank.
Your logo is showing in customizer but not on front end, it's likely a cache issue. Can you contact your host to disable the server cache if it's enabled?

And I think you should remove the logo image from Customizer> Background Images > Header
Hi,
The hosting company does not cache and suggests wiping out WordPress and starting over. I think that is the best option. Do you have any other suggestions?
Ivars
If there isn't anything you want to keep then sure.
I doubt it's gonna solve the issue though but worth a shot!
I will give it a try.
