I would like to put an announcement bar at the top of the page

Hello!
I am getting tons of great compliments on my website, so thank you for an awesome theme.
I would like an announcement bar in the area where you see the bright blue strip at the top of my home page.
-That blue strip is not wide enough for what I want.
-I will want to put text and a button with a link to the product up. This was built in to my old theme, but I loved it. So I would like to replicate it in some way.

I'm having trouble getting your site to load so can't see your set up.
Have you tried using the top bar widget area?

You can adjust the width settings in the customizer:

I tried this and it just doesn't work or is user friendly. Now I want to remove it which I cannot do now. Can you advise how to remove the top bar?
Hi there,
go to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and delete any Widgets or blocks from the Top bar widget area.
I added this to the website and now it is pushing the logo down into the text. Any idea how I can adjust the CSS?
