I want the Main menu item NOT clickable with sub menu

Hello support,
I want the opposite of what is asked in this topic

So that the main menu item which has sub menu items, is not clickable itself. So only the sub menu items are clickable.
With the behaviour that the dropdown list shows when you hover over the main menu item.
How can I create this?

Hi there,
When you edit your menu in your Appearance > Menu - add a Custom Link for the Parent Menu item and set the URL to # - then add your real link menu items as submenu items to that
