http 500 error

Hi I changed my site over from Divi to Generatepress in early December. All smooth sailing till 3 weeks ago when I keep getting HTTP 500 errors and can't access my site.
my host wpx have tried to fix the situation but they are saying it is a database issue. This leads me to believe there may have been an issue with the generate press install or old device files remaining in the database.
Either way, wpx are telling me my database is 2.7 gig in size and they don't really have an answer to my problems. At present, I can't access my site at all through the front end.
please help
Hi there,
This is very unlikely a theme issue so not sure what we can do to help here.
If it's a theme issue, it would happen as soon as you install GP and not after 3 weeks of smooth sailing.
Error 500 is generally caused by the server so I'm WPX would need to look into this for you.
2.7 gig is definitely very large. The GeneratePress theme is 935KB and GP Premium is 853KB.
I would recommend going through some debugging steps like disabling all plugins etc to start.
Leo, I have had wpx looking into this for days now with a solution in sight, disabled all plugins, they change themes and cleared caches, they tried to restore a backup and more. None of it seems to help.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what we could do to help here as it's not a theme issue.
I would escalate the issue with WPX's support team. It should be their responsibility to fix it for you.
