HTML Format Codes Show Up in the Post Title Portion of a Comment in GP Theme

We use the HTML strong code in the titles of some posts. When people comment on such posts, the title of the post appears at the top of the comment, and the strong codes are visible:

Is there some way to avoid showing the literal HTML code in this context?

Did you hide the page title <h1> on that page?
Yes, we hid the H1 title for the article in the context of the blog:

This H1 heading does show up in some other contexts on the site. It is the HTML code from the hidden H1 that is showing up in the comment area:
