How to show categories in grid layout in a page

With all these EXCITING changes and expansions to GP/GB, I find myself a little lost on what is now capable.

How close are we to being able to display a dynamic grid of categories?

I'm doing this manually now with GB - which is fine, just not optimal.

Should I be experimenting with the GB beta, WP Query loops, or WP Show Posts?

- I know adding Featured Images to categories is outside GP/GB (searching for a plugin that is being maintained).

- Can a GB Headline or Dynamic Content pull a Custom Fields added to a Category?

My apologies for getting lost :)

Any general guidance would be very appreciated.

Yes.

But I don't think the dynamic categories list can be done by GB/GP out of box yet Unfortuanly.
