How can I change the hyperlink?I searched the forum but couldn’t find any solution to my query.
thank you very much for any little help,
appreciate it!October 21, 2021 at 12:50 pm #1971154LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Are you trying to remove the author link and text overall or just the link itself and keep the text?
Any chance you can link me to the page in question so I can see what you are trying to accomplish?
Let me know š
October 21, 2021 at 4:59 pm #1971316BernhardI would like to have both options, in case I want to change it.
But yes, removing the hyper-link would be my first priority.

The author name can be removed on the posts through Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog by unchecking “Display post author” as shown here
https://share.getcloudapp.com/X6ubDyom
or here if its a single post page – https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDug9JBDIf you want to keep the name but remove the link, you’ll have to filter with a PHP snippet.

I am sorry, but that feature doesn’t show up on my blog.
Video that shows your path:
October 21, 2021 at 10:37 pm #1971478ElvinStaffCustomer SupportAh I see,
You’ll need to activate “Blog” module on Appearance > GeneratePress for this option to show up on the customizer settings. š
October 22, 2021 at 10:12 am #1972123BernhardThank you very much. That makes sense. lol;
But however.. it doesn’t work. If I do so, and I “uncheck” Display post author, the author is still visible.
ImageAnd one more question. When using the plugin feature, in which I “untick” show the author.. will the hyperlink stay within the code and will it be just a no-display operation?
For me, it’s important that the actual hyperlink will be physically removed. Doesn’t seem to help for SEO.
Thank you,

in Customizer > Layout > Blog. At the top of the panel, you will see two Tabs:
Archives
andSingle
Click on the Single Tab and uncheck the Display Author there.October 28, 2021 at 2:54 pm #1981352BernhardThank you so much. Does this also remove the hyperlink in the source code?
Or will it just not display it?October 28, 2021 at 3:12 pm #1981367LeoStaffCustomer SupportThis will remove the entire author element HTML.
December 2, 2021 at 1:06 am #2035259FrankHi, I too want to remove the author link. I went to the Blog menu as you specified. But, the “Display post author” is already unchecked? Am I missing something? Maybe some setting in my Users section? Thanks!
December 2, 2021 at 3:35 am #2035465DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you raise a new topic where you can share a link to your site, we can then take a look at how that meta is being displayed.
December 2, 2021 at 10:59 am #2036210FrankSure. These appear names appear on each blog post. Iām the author and admin so not sure if thatās a factor.
My goal is to click on my name āFrank M Ligonsā and it take me to a page on my site. Right now clicking on it gives some weird picture and text.
Iād also like to know how to remove authors from the posts in general.
Thank you, Frank

December 2, 2021 at 11:55 am #2036284YingStaffCustomer SupportHi Frank,
Iād also like to know how to remove authors from the posts in general.
You can remove author name at customizer > layout > blog: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/blog-overview/
Currently when clicking on the author name, it will lead to the author archive page, if you go on remove the author name from posts and archives, then there’s no where to click on it.
Let me know if you need further assistance š
December 2, 2021 at 12:29 pm #2036309FrankPlease review my posts above.
I already have display author unchecked.
Clicking on the author hyperlink isnāt going to an archive page. Itās putting authorās name next to an empty avatar on top of the posts.
P.s. what happened to the private attachment option for this forum?
