How to put descriptions (not excerpts) below featured images?

I want to place brief descriptions of articles, rather than excerpts from the articles themselves, below all the featured images on my homepage, but haven't been able to find a way to do this.

To clarify what I'm after, I want to put a post description, e.g. "A blind man finds himself on the run from a vampire," below the article images on this page: https://aussiehorror.com/

but not on, for example, this page: https://aussiehorror.com/flesh-eaters-greatest-b-grade-horror-movie-ever/

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Robert,

Perhaps you can add the “description” through the custom Excerpt field in the post settings?

Alternatively, you can add a custom field for custom descriptions.

You can use ACF plugin to add a custom field: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/getting-started-with-acf/

Then, you can use a Content Template for you Blog/Archive Pages. Then, use a GB Headline Block to retrieve the custom field text for the description.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will give it a try.

You’re welcome Robert!
