Can we merge two cells vertically or two cells horizontally in tables?

HTML Tables have various attributes including rowspan and colspan which is what you requires – see this example:

I can’t understand how to do it. Previously, we just select and merge cells. I am not seeing any option anywhere

Are you using the Table Block in the editor ? If so this is a WordPress Block that doesn’t provide that option.
