I have a client who wants to publish serial/collection type content — like a 5-post series about a trip they took — in addition to their regular every-couple-months blog posts. They don’t want these series to clog up their blog feed, but they want people to be able to see them still.

What makes the most sense (I think) is showing either a master post or the Part 1 post in the main blog feed, then linking within the post to the other posts in the series and/or a separate category that has them all. I’m trying to figure out how to exclude this category (with posts 2-5) from the main blog page but still have the posts be visible when you click to that category archive page.

I see plugins and PHP that will exclude these categories, but I’m not finding a solution that looks like will hide it on the blog page only and NOT the other category archive pages. Someone said my page builder might be able to do this, so thought I’d check if this is possible in GP built in and I’ve just missed it. Thanks for any thoughts!

    Hi Jessica,

    Does this solution work?
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/exclude-categories-from-posts-page/

It should only apply to the blog/posts page.
