    Hello Tom,

I created a custom link following the tutorial in order to add a social media icon to the secondary menu. Now, upon clicking the icon, how can Facebook open in a new tab?

    Is CSS needed for that?

    Thanks!

    Miguel

    Hi Miguel,

Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus. Click “Screen Options” on the top right corner and check “Link Target” under “Show advanced menu properties”. Then you should be able to check “Open link in a new tab” in your Custom Link.

    Hi Miguel,

When you are in Appearance > Menus, click the Screen Options tab (upper right) and then in the Show advanced menu properties section, tick the Link Target box.

Now, when you expand the menu item for your social icon links, you will see a Open link in a new tab item; tick it and Save the Menu 🙂

    Cheers!
