How To Have Button Open A SUMO Trigger Link
9 replies · Started by Myles on December 20, 2022
I'm working on a new site and want to add a button that opens a SUMO opt-in form.
I added a button to my GP home page, but I do not know where to add the trigger link SUMO has provided.
You can see the opt-in button on this page right after the hero section: https://wordpress-688581-2273186.cloudwaysapps.com/
SUMO provides me with this as the trigger link: Click Here
I can't seem to get it to work. Can you assist with this?
Hi there,
SUMO provides me with this as the trigger link: Click Here
I don't see anything there.
Can you confirm?
This wouldn't be a theme-specific question either so you could check with SUMO's support team at the same time.
Thanks for the quick reply.
This is the code:
<a data-sumome-listbuilder-id="6873fda4-d5fa-4e13-9706-81ee7652af67">Click Here</a>
The issue is very similar to this thread (closest) I can find, I"m unsure where/how to place the code in GP.

The custom attribute/data attribute requires GB pro.
Can you confirm you have that?
If not then GB's button block cannot be used for this.
Yes, I have GB Pro.
I tried using the Advanced section but I'm not sure if I"m entering in the right values in the right places.
Try adding data-sumome-listbuilder-id in the data-attribute field then 6873fda4-d5fa-4e13-9706-81ee7652af67 in the value.
Thanks. Unfortunately, that didn't work. The block still looks like it's unclickable.
Can you first make sure the link <a data-sumome-listbuilder-id="6873fda4-d5fa-4e13-9706-81ee7652af67">Click Here</a> when you just insert it using an HTML block?
If so can you link me to the page in question?
Thanks, Leo.
Sorry, I wasted your time. I realized I didn't install the SUMO code on my staging site! Rookie mistake!
No problem :)
