Jeff
Can someone help me get on the right track with GeneratePress? I’ve watched tutorials but nothing really has helped me really understand the best way for my situation.
I recreated my website about 2 months ago using GeneratePress free until I could get the structure all setup. The core plugins I’m using are GeoDirectory and their other plugins like UsersWP. They do a lot with Elementor but I want to stick with GP because it is significantly faster. So, I upgraded to Premium and watched a lot of the tutorials. But, I’m having a hard time knowing the best way to get started with my situation.
Will someone watch this and let me know what you think would be the best way to get started on the right path?
I’ll want to fine tune the homepage, but also be able to change it over time as the site accumulates content.
I’ll want to do more with the users profile, listings, archive templates, etc…I have a staging site setup if someone wants to poke around to see how to best recommend I get going.

Hi Jeff,
Well, with regards to the padding, if you can recreate those static pages, it would be better.
The Block you’re currently using to group sets of Block is a WordPress core Block that doesn’t have spacing options.
We highly recommend using a GenerateBlocks Container Block instead to group Blocks. GB Container Blocks have spacing options that allow you to control margins and padding easily. Reference: https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/
I would also recommend watching this instructional video to learn how to structure stuff with GenerateBlocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7fwJECtgSg
In general, we recommend using GenerateBlocks as much as possible in conjunction with GeneratePress for ease of use and modification. In the same way, the GenerateBlocks free plugin is also very lightweight and user-friendly.
If you already have numerous pages created with WordPress core Blocks, we can try to use custom CSS to negate the spacing they have.
Let us know what you think.
