Hello all!
I’m a new user and I have just installed Catalyst theme on my hosting. It looks nice, but obviously I would like to modify the theme and want to add more functionality. Under Pages, I select Home, but I don’t see too much option here:
Just only 4 columns/sections. When I click on the pencil/edit icon, I can modify the text only, nothing else. Why?
How can I customize the rest such as header background picture, increase column numbers, more call to action etc.?
Here I cannot see the customization options at all.
Thanks, appreciate any help!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
The home page is Catalyst is using Sections + Lightweight Grid Columns which is the old way of doing layout like that.
Would you consider using Gutenberg + our newly released block plugin (currently in beta) Generate Blocks?
https://generateblocks.com/install/You will be able to achieve the exact layout plus more.
Let me know π

Thanks Leo,
it can be an option, yes I installed that. However I don’t want to recreate everything from scratch, is it possible to customize the existing homepage and add few more elements?

StaffCustomer SupportYup for sure.
The header background image can be changed with that header element:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/Then you just need to add more sections to add more content. See more on how to use Sections here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sections-overview/Just note that the author of Catalyst has converted the site to Generate Blocks and we will be re-uploading it once the official version of Generate Blocks is released.
I would recommend waiting for that if you aren’t in a rush π

In the meantime, I checked GenerateBlocks and it’s awesome! It’s very easy to reproduce any sites, just the global headers is tricky, but the rest is easy-peasy! Thanks for it! Is there any way to get the GB converted Catalyst somehow? π

I think you missed my reply above:
