how to display posts in a grid

I have a GP site at staging1.hardyness.com (password might be needed. if so it is 'bridget')
I would like to create a page that display posts like in biggestwinner.info. For that site, I used a plugin called "Advanced Recent Posts", but it might be extinct because it doesn't come up when I search for it with "add plugin".
Can I do the same thing with WP Showposts? (or some other (more modern) plugin)?

Just to confirm, the page you are trying to create won't be the posts/blog page?

Yes, I would like it to be the page that holds all of the posts. So in "reading", I set the posts page to the page "Email Archive."
I would like this page to contain all of the posts.

So WordPress allows you to assign a page that displays all your posts (called posts or blog page) under the readings setting:

Once you do that, you can use the customizer options to activate the columns options for that page:
