Hi there,

you could build something similar using the GenerateBlocks plugin:

It provides 4 blocks, Container, Grid, Headline ( for advanced typography and icons ) and a Buttons block.

And Mike Oliver our resident designer has created some videos including this one specifically for creating Grids:

2. To fill the width of the container you will need to upload an image that is 1500px wide.

3. in Customizer > Layout > Container – increase your Left and Right Padding. The Merch Site uses large padding ie. 64px left and right.

Alternatively you can reduce the Customizer > Layout > Footer Padding.

If you’re trying to replicate an old site then i would suggest starting from scratch and not importing a site, as this will add functions, features and CSS that does not match your original design.

It would be easier to start with a blank page.
For your home page i would set the Content Container to Full Width:

Then build your page with the GenerateBlocks plugin, this will allow you to have full width backgrounds/containers where you need them. Just treat each section of the page as a separate Container Block.

So, ideally I should delete my staging site and then again restart my work on a fresh staging site?

Yes – sometimes it is best to start on fresh site 🙂
