How to Create a Gallery for a Category of Blog Posts
6 replies · Started by John on May 15, 2022
Hi!
I have organized my blog by category.
These categories are arranged and listed in a widget:
Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
When a user clicks a category of interest, they see all the posts in that category listed in chronological sequence most recent first. Each post consists of a thumbnail and an excerpt. The number of post excerpts to six per page. as an endless scroll is not a nice experience.
This works ok, but it's difficult for someone to easily get an overview of all the content available in a particular category.
What would work much better is if all the post thumbnails in a category were arranged in a gallery that the user could easily scan. When a user found something of interest, clicking the thumb would link to the relevant post.
I'm looking for suggestions about how to do this.
Thank You!
Hi there,
Any chance you can link us to the page in question?
You can use the private information field:

Hi Leo:
Login credentials sent.
So basically you want to remove the title and excerpt on the /category/origami-tutorials/ archives?
We have to think this through a little more carefully before I answer your question.
I'll be back.
Sounds good.
Hi!
I've found the perfect plugin that does exactly what I was hoping for.
Essential Grid will sort and filter the featured image of blog posts into a gallery with each image linked to its respective post. There are many features and options that cover a host of needs.
Excellent support, knowledge base, and collection of video tutorials.
Hope this useful info to someone else.
