How to control the visibility of a widget

I have a CTA widget placed in the right column of my GP template. The block menu in Appearance -> Widgets shows me the advanced option to control the visibility of a widget.
Problem is as follows: the needed rule "Hide this block" does not work!
How can I define the visibility in GP?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Viktor

Hi there,

the widget visibility option isn't a core WP thing or something that GP adds. I assume you have a plugin that adds that option?

What condition needs to be met to "Hide the widget" ? Is it on a specific page or device ?

Hi David,

I'm using Jetpack for visibility control of widgets. Unfortunatly, the "Hide this block" option seems not to work. I want to hide a widget on a specific page.

Where is this widget ? Is it in the Themes Right Sidebar ?

What i meant was - where is the CTA widget being added ?

Ah, ok. In the theme's right sidebar!

Reading the Jetpack docs on that - it reckons it should work on any widget thats within a wp dynamic widget area which is what the theme is using. Does it work on other types of widget ? Like on of the core widgets eg. Search, Categories etc ?

It works on the search widget, indeed.
The CTA widget is from Genesis Blocks.

I think it only works with true classic widgets. Might be worth checking with Jetpack support or even Genesis blocks

Thank you!

You're welcome
