    Hi,

I have recently added Generatepress to my site and I have noticed most of the articles are contained within the container width but some pages like About Us and privacy policy run right across the page.

Also, I have noticed all articles, when viewed on mobile, the words are right on the edge of the left side of the screen. How do I space these away?

Please consider I am going to add this theme to another site that has hundreds of articles.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Derek,

For the width of the Pages/Posts, let’s first try to check if you have a Layout Element set in some of your pages.

To do that, kindly visit a page with a proper width, and hover on Elements in the admin bar. Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/KoujD1Pg

Check for an Element which says Layout.

Then, check your About us and Privacy Policy pages and see if it has or doesn’t have one.

Basically, if you do have a layout element which is setting the Content width as such: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1, you’ll need to create a new or set the same Layout element to display for other pages that need to have the same width.

Now, with regards to the words seemingly sticking to the edge on the left side on mobile, you may try to go to Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container > Content Padding, and then set the view to mobile, and add some right and left padding.

    Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8uQpNZ5

Hope this helps! Kindly let us know how it goes.

    Hi Fernando,

Your response has been very helpful. Sorry, I’m still learning.

It seems I have got the elements figured out so that is all good.

On the other hand, with regards to padding the container for mobile view, I did exactly what you have asked but the text is not changing. It is still hard over to the left-hand side. Even the right side padding is not making any effects.

I see. In your Layout Element, can you try setting the Content Area to default so it takes into account the padding set in the Customizer?

    Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/DOudNkpP

Kindly let us know how it goes.
