How to Configure GP Blocks to replace WP Show Posts

I'm using WP Show Posts Pro to create post lists. I'm even using "post lists" to create a blog post article. For example, this page uses the WPSP shortcode to display the list of birds that have categories= "blue" and "Michigan".

I heard WP Show Posts is going away so want to start creating the articles and post lists (articles with shortcode) using the go-forward method which I think is GenerateBlocks. I'm not sure how to do this. Is there a video, article, or instructions on how to create posts lists using GenerateBlocks (assuming that's the go-forward approach)?
