How to change content width for home page?
5 replies · Started by Tom on March 9, 2020
Hello, I am trying to recreate my home page using Generatepress and Gutenberg Editor (replacing old Elementor template).
I've been trying to change the content width under Layout > Container > Container Width but this does not seem to affect the home page. The problem is that elements on this page stretch across the screen, whereas I want them to stay within a specific container size.
Here is the reference page: https://www.thedermdetective.com/
How can I adjust the content width here?
Thanks,
Tom
Hi there,
You have the full width page builder container setting applied:

Hi Leo,
I just checked the page settings and it is currently set to "Default" for Page Builder Container. Where did you see that the full width container setting is being applied?
Thanks,
Tom
In that case, check if you have a Layout Element with the same setting applied:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1
Looks like you might be using a caching plugin? Can you disable that while we are trying to help?
Thanks :)
Got it. Actually I found the problem, it was a sidebar setting provided by Elementor for that page which was toggled to full page width.
Thanks,
Tom
No problem :)
