StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
if you’re using the Block Editor then you should use a Block Element – Page Hero :
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/
Documentation: http://docs.generatepress.com/
Adding CSS: http://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-css/October 13, 2022 at 7:09 pm #2372893Paul
hello david
thanks for your reply
Few question here for you
1. when clicking” elements” then add new element from the left menu, you will see this content like this screenshot https://prnt.sc/ol8tyVaMkdcR,, then you will see ” Block” ” Hook” ” Header”
Now im using ” Header” to add my page title bar, https://prnt.sc/Y7znxaX8HEf5
but now if choosing ” Block” , then you will see https://prnt.sc/WP_NaZvixLjE, which includes many elements such as , Hook, site header, page hero etc,
So i m wondering that the Hook, site header, page hero from this screenshot https://prnt.sc/WP_NaZvixLjE is different from the Hook and Header from this screenshot https://prnt.sc/Y7znxaX8HEf5
Im confused, i dont know one is rightr , or There are different ways for achieving one layout or function?
can you explain more? and let it be more clear?
thansk much

Hi Paul,
1. The Header Element, the one you’re using now to create the Page Hero is the older method to add a Page Hero. Nowadays, the preferred and easier method is to use a Block Element – Page Hero as mentioned by David.
2. In your screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/WP_NaZvixLjE, if you’re creating a Page Hero, choosing Page Hero would be the way to go.
3. A Block Element – Site Header’s functionality is to replace the Header you have. So, this is useful if you want to fully customize the place where the logo and navigation usually are.

hello Fernando
thanks for your help and it helps.
no 1 and no 2 is OK
no 3,
A Block Element – Site Header’s functionality is to replace the Header you have. So, this is useful if you want to fully customize the place where the logo and navigation usually are.
– Customize the logo and navigation by site header from Block element, would you like to send one video or docs file? i want to check this, but it is better if you can provide the help of video, thanks

3. Here’s the doc for the Site Header – Block Element: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-site-header/
Basically, anything you put there would replace the default Header.
However, personally, I often use the default Header as it utilizes the WordPress Menu by default. It can easily be customized as well. Here are some samples: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-examples/
A Block Element – Site Header would be useful if you want a totally different layout for your Header.
