Hi all,
I am looking to add an author bio and possible some social links when someone clicks on the authors link which takes them to the list of their posts. This is how it currently is for the author page (https://veryinformed.com/author/admin/), but looking to add a bio on the page. How do I do this? Thanks!
Hi there,
I believe this video should help:

Let me know if this helps :)
Hi, thanks for that. I have the author boxes, but I am looking to add an author bio to the link of the author's profile on the site. I can't see this being covered in the video, it only shows how to do the author box down the bottom of a blog post. Thanks
Hi Lewis,
To make an Element appear in Author Archive pages, you may set the Display rule location to Author Archives as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruoNLXo
Here is a visual guide of some Hooks you may use for archive pages: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/hooks-visual-guide/#archives
Hope this helps! If you’re referring to something else, kindly let us know.
Hi there, I tried your recommendation as per the screenshot. However, that adds the author box to all the blog posts on the archive as opposed to just one author box on the archive page at the top. Thanks
This is where I am looking to add the author box with the bio, image, and author links. https://imgur.com/a/ktFMYHH
To clarify, are you trying to add the Author Box in Posts or in Author Archive Pages?
Moreover, can you share a link to a page where you want it displayed?
You may use the private information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
Hope to hear from you soon!
Hi, yes, I am looking to add the author bio box to the archive page of a particular author.
If you’re planning to replace the one you Boxed in red, you would need to go to Appearance > Elements, and the edit the Block Element called Global.
In its exclude rules, add Author Archives: https://share.getcloudapp.com/DOudNl05
Then Copy the Container Block: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9Zuo2KZN
After this, create a new Block Element - Page Hero display to Author Archives: https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8um7Gz7

Hope this helps!
Hi Fernando,
I am actually trying to do it on this site, was using that site as a test (please see attached domain). I excluded author archives in the global section, but I don't have the option to copy the element as it looks different on my end https://imgur.com/a/JIfMYfy. Thanks
I see. The image in your link is a Header Element, the default Element called Global for “Search” template is a Block Element - Page Hero.
If you hover on the Elements button in the admin bar while on an author Archive page, do you see a Block Element - Page Hero, and a Header Element: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4gurbXD7
If so, kindly let us know what these are and kindly take a screenshot of them as well.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Sure, here you go
Thank you!
Let’s do this one step at a time.
1. Exclude Author Archives in Global Header Element.
2. Create a Block Element - Page Hero similar to this: https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8um7Gz7
3. Add a shape to the Container Block as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4uAPGrr
Also see: https://share.getcloudapp.com/KoujDE74
4. Create a Header Element set it to display in Author Archives. Turn on merge.
Kindly let us know how it goes.
Hi, I tried step 2 but am not seeing what you are...
Yes, you’re on the right track. Kindly add a Container Block.
