How should I start ?
1 reply · Started by Jimi on March 21, 2021
Hi,
I am new to blocks in general. I have only used pagebuilders before. And now I have imported my site unto a staging site, to develop it using generatepress Pro and Blocks Pro.
All the text has ofcourse been imported, but not the old theme etc. So it's just text on white background.
But how should I progress from here ? Should I build blocks and elements first and then set in the text inside them ? Or is there another preferred method, of importing and starting from scratch (but with many pages of text to add) ? I don't want to use any of the templates from the sitelibrary. I hope you understand my question.
Thanks,
Jimi
Hi Jimi,
This question is a bit vague so it's tough to answer but I'll try my best.
Should I build blocks and elements first and then set in the text inside them?
That could be a good start if you prefer.
There isn't a preferred way to build a website - everybody takes different steps.
I prefer to build out the layout first then fill the text.
I think the first step here would be to take the time and familiarize yourself with how the block editors work.
Are you using GenerateBlocks? If so we have some videos here that might be worth spending some time on:
