When I check my website at Pagespeed Insights, the following recommendations show up
    1) Eliminate render blocking script – https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=4.9.4
    2) Leverage browser cachhing – https://www.google-analytics.com/plugins/ua/linkid.js

Recently, I enabled ‘Load essential icons only’ in the General section and the after that this Elimiinate render blocking of https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=4.9.4 popped up. Now even after disabling it, the script is not going away. Previously, the site loaded in 1.3 seconds but now it’s loading in 1.6 seconds in GTmetrix. I even want it to load faster in under 1 second. Can you guys please help me out in this.

GeneratePress doesn’t load Font Awesome from a CDN, so that file is likely being added by one of the plugins you have installed on your website.

So, that was the Simple author box plugin…I removed it and the load time went down to 1.3 seconds. Another thing I am facing issue on is the ‘Prioritize Above the Fold Content’. Only about 49% of the final above-the-fold content could be rendered with the full HTML response.
What can I do about it. I have inserted Critical CSS as mentioned by the Autoptimize author, what else can be done.

Most of your content is above the fold, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that one.

It’s more important to get your site speed up than it is to get a nice score. I would look at your waterfall and try to optimize the files which are taking the longest to load.
