If you download the child theme from here then there shouldn’t be any actions required: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/

    Let me know 🙂

I tried that again and no footer copyright. The margins and padding for custom headers also disappears. I had to switch back to main theme.

The copyright is theme specific, so it will need to be re-set using the child theme.

As for header padding – that definitely shouldn’t change. Can you switch it back to the child theme and link us to your site?

What about adding google analytics code to the head of each page? Would I need to copy header.php into the child theme and customize the header.php?

I also want to add structured markup code as well which I believe would also go in the header.php file.

I’m trying to avoid plug-ins whenever possible.

You can just use this hook: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/wp-head/

Please open a new topic if you need future assistance.
