[Support request] How Do Stop Using Sections

Hi,

I built a website few years back and used sections. It seemed a good idea at the time.
Now I want to switch sections off I keep unticking boxes which say sections but I keep seeing sections even in a new page.
I cannot see a box to tick or untick to remove sections.

I have tried to understand similar questions which point to some code possibly you have to add. Being think the other issue is I could not understand is where you added the code. I did not see a reference as to where that needed to go.

Can you to go appearance > elements and untick the Section module?

Hi Ying,

Many thanks for your swift reply. As the site in question is a live site – I created a copy of the site and then followed your instructions – which worked – I.e. Sections in now deleted. When I create a new page I still get the section controls as opposed to the Generate Blocks view and the black square with the plus sign in it.

Is there something else I need to do to trigger the blocks way of working?

Hi there,

are you using the Classic Editor plugin on the site ? As that would need to be disabled in order to use the Block Editor and GenerateBlocks

Hi David,

Correct! Deactivating that plugin is the fix to enabling the new Generatepress block editor to spring into life, if you do not want to use sections.

Many thanks for your help and the quality of support Generatepress provide. About 1 million times better than the support Microsoft provides for its software, which is just about non-existent.
