How do I store the colors I use all the time in the new color palette?

Well I don't think that is what I want. I understand the global colors, but this is inside my blog post.

Let's say I want to use the same custom color to highlight the background around some, but not all my h2 headings.
This is when we are in the block editor, and I click beside the h2 heading, we get the color tag on the right.
If we click on it, we get a drop down menu, If I click background, I get a color palette.

Now, it used to display colors like red, green, blue, ect already chosen as those little dot color suggestions. But, that changed in the last update and the custom color link disappeared also. Now, it automatically give the custom color palette.
And the colors in those dot suggested colors, all changed to several shades of grey, black and white. I don't use those colors for my headings or for highlighting background in a text container.

So what happens is this. I like a shade of orange for my h2 highlights. So, to get that color, I have to use the palette, and move it until I get the color I want. The little dots used to have an orange that was close enough and I used it all the time. Made life simple, just click on the dot to chose the color and it changed the background around the heading.

But, now the orange is gone. So I have to got to a previous post, click the heading, click on color, copy the color and go to the post I am working on, click that heading, got to colors and paste it in there.

If I try to use the palette to create a custom color to match, it is hard to match each one correctly, so I copy the color# and paste it in each heading. But, I have to click on each one, then go to colors, open it and paste the color. I have to keep repeating this process each time.

It would be much easier to set the dots to a custom color I am using and just click the dot and get everything at once. So, is there any settings for the palette inside the block editor for changing the color dots displayed. I would like to save my custom color and add it to the dots or replace a color dot.

Are you talking about GenerateBlocks settings here? If so the global colors settings should definitely work.

I am not sure what controls that sidebar palette, but I don't want to change all the colors of all the h2 headings background. It seems if I try to change a color in the global, it changes everything everywhere. I don't want that.

So, how do I change the custom color palette, to use as needed? This palette come up automatically in the right side bar. I have no idea where to change that? If I use the global settings some how, tell me how to do it?

I don't want all the site wide colors changed?

I believe this is inside the generate blocks, Leo. I will look over that documentation and try to figure it out.

Actually, the documentation show the old color picker as it used to be, but it is not like that now. It has changed. And I don't know know what I can do to get it displaying colors like that. How do I change those colors in the color picker!

Can you first show me a screenshot of what you are seeing to make sure we are on the same page?

This is the screenshot to what I am seeing.
I clicked on my headline went to colors in the right column, clicked Colors>background, and the "Color Picker" appears.

The color dots are completely changed from the "Color Picker" in your documentation for the "Color Picker" inside generate blocks

As you can see the colors in the dots at the bottom are mostly grey, black and white. except for the blue.

That is totally useless to me. I want to know if I can change those color dots to some colors I use often, so I can just click on the color I want to use.

The original "Color Picker" inside "generate blocks" documentation had an assortment of colors.
They were more useful than this.

if you go to Customizer > Colors what do you see there ?

I see the same colors. Black, dark grey, three shades of white and the blue dot.

I guess those color dots are all being used in the theme background and text somewhere, so I can't change them.

So, I see the + sign in customize below the color dots, so, I grabbed three color # I want to use and added three more colors in the row below the colors being displayed in the customizer.

When I published each one, they now display in the "color picker" on the page, as a new row below those color dots, and match the display in the customizer. Great!

So, I found out how to "add" more colors. I guess that's how I can change the colors to the ones I want, just add more?
Is that correct?

Yes, that’s correct. Global colors present a centralized way to control the colors in your website. There is no limit to how many colors you may specify.

Moreover, the beauty of Global colors is if you decide to change a Global color, the change would take effect on all blocks/elements you applied it to. Through this, making color changes on a large scale in website would be much easier and more efficient.
