    Hello,

    I’m using GeneratePress’ Read Theme.

    Here’s my website: https://www.greensplatter.com/

I’m onboarding new writers and would like to create an author profile for them, as well.

How do I go about doing that, exactly?

I’ve created an “author box” for myself, so my guess is that – to do that for them – I’d follow the same steps …

Do let me know – thanks!

    Warmly,

    L.

    Hi Lucas,

You just need to create a new user at dashboard > users.

Yes. If your existing author box is built dynamically, then you do NOT need to build another author box, it should pull different author name/info in different posts.

    Thanks!

    I’ll try this out …

What does “built dynamically” mean, exactly?

To build it, I used Dynamic Content …

    Is that what you’re referencing?

    Yes, exactly.

If that’s the case, you won’t need to build another author box for the new author.

    Ying,

Another quick question on this …

I’ve gone to Dashboard > Users, but I don’t want to give somebody backend WP access …

Basically, I just want to publish their content myself under a new name …

    Does that make sense?

    So here’s a sample article: https://www.greensplatter.com/lukewarm-take-disc-golf-caddies-arent-important/

At the top, you’ll see that the author is “Lucas Miller.”

I’m wanting to replace that with “Green Splatter Guest.”

Is it possible for me to ONLY change the name at the top, without having to give somebody backend access: UN, PW, etc.

Let me know – thanks, Ying!

    Warmly,

    L.

    Hi Lucus,

You can create a new author profile using your own email address, but with the new author name.

You don’t have to give the access to your authors, it’s really your choice.

    Got it – thanks!

I guess my question is this: will I need a new email address and password for this?

So, I’ll need to log into a different account for “guest authors” every time I post one of their articles?

No, you just need to login with your admin (main account).

As admin, you can assign different author to your posts.
