How do I change font_site_tagline?

I am not 100% sure. I inherited this site. We used to have the Code Snippets but I removed all snippets before uninstalling that. I have also tried removing generatepress and my child theme from the file system and then installing generatepress from the gallery but the issue still persists. Any way to debug this?

Also tried reinstalling WordPress 5.7.1 from updates on the dashboard but that did not help either.

Here's how I'd do it.

I'll have 2 staging sites.

1 is that one you inherited and another for a 100% fresh and updated WP + GP + GP premium. A Vanilla site. (no plugins or snippets added)

For the first one, I'd disable ALL plugins except GP Premium. I'll deactivate any child theme if there is one.

I'll make sure to have the proper files in case the previous developer did some modification on the plugin by removing GP and GP Premium and reinstalling both of them.

I then do the test and see if the customizer options are fixed and the settings are in the proper locations (see Tom's reply).

I'd also check for any server-side caching issues that may go wonky.

The purpose of the 2nd staging site is basically for reference on what the defaults should look like. It may also serve as an alternative testing ground by exporting the post and page contents from the inherited site to this 2nd staging site for the purpose of having its contents.

At least, with this 2nd staging site, you're sure there are no weird things.

I have setup a new WordPress installation in Softaculous where I have installed GeneratePress from the gallery and GP Premium from your website. I have only enabled the Typography module in GP Premium. One entry is still hidden in the customizer. See login details in private information.

That username/password isn't working for me. Can you double-check?

Strange. Added new private information. Works for me in a guest browser.

Oh. I thought you meant on the first page of the customizer. A few things are hidden there but that is probably by design. Then yes, I can see the Site Tagline setting under Typography > Header in the clean install but not in the site I mentioned at first (a clone of the production site that has the same problem).

I have new and possibly better steps to reproduce. If I reset GeneratePress settings the issue goes away and I can see the Site Tagline typography settings. If I import the old settings again then the issue is reproduced. I have added new credentials and my settings json to private information.

Aha, I see the issue. You have the Navigation as Header option activated which removes tagline-specific options as it doesn't apply.

To fix, deactivate the Navigation as Header option, then go remove the font, then reactivate it.

Let me know :)

Thanks that did it. Maybe Navigation as Header should not remove these setting since the tagline options are applied anyway with regards to what is downloaded from Google Fonts. Or the URL to Google Fonts should not be generated from this option then.

Agreed - we'll play with a couple of different options here.

Thanks!
