    Hi Tom…
Just a quick question. How closely will Generate Press allow me to mimic this site that I really like?

    http://kottongrammer.com/

    100%? 95%? 90%?

    Thanks
    Michael

With the use of our add-ons – especially the Sections add-on, and some custom HTML and CSS, you could get pretty close to 95% I’d say. It will definitely take custom CSS and HTML in the sections though.

Ugh! Thanks Tom, I was hoping it could be done out of the box. I don’t know anything about CSS. I know the HTML basics. Just curious, was additional css needed to make the GeneratePress.com look as great as it does?

    Thanks
    Michael

The homepage on this site took very little custom CSS or HTML – I just used the built in unsemantic framework (http://unsemantic.com/) to create the columns – the rest is using the Sections add-on.

The only thing about the site you linked to is having different color columns – that would take some custom CSS.

Looking at it again, it’s very achievable πŸ™‚

Thanks Tom. I really like the generatepress.com design. It’s actually in the same ballpark as the site I’d like to mimic. I suppose I could live without the colored columns. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about CSS, but I’ll see what can be done just using the out of the box features of GP. If there are any other pearls of wisdom that you think would help without me having to hire a css expert, just let me know. πŸ˜‰

    Thanks for your prompt responses.
