[Support request] How can you add blog post excerpts to home page

Hi,
I’m using a static page for my home page and would like to add a section where I can feature an image an excerpts from 3 blog posts so they line up across the page. Is that possible? How would I do that?

I am using your Show Posts plugin on my static home page, but the images from the posts are not showing up, even though the box is checked. Do I have to add them separately? Thanks.
