Hello,
I’ve had GP Premium on my site for about a year, and recently I see an issue with how it displays for a logged in user.
Not sure when this issue occurred, as I am working on the site only part time and did not see the issue until today. It seemed to be working on 27 Feb 2020 (today is 11 Jul 2020).
The site looks as normal when not logged in.
After login, a video appears in the header, full page width, covering up the header image, and the “recent post” list appears in its normal position, but is now overlapping that video.
When I log in, the page appears normal for a split second, then is overwritten by the video.
Confession – I saw that I had a few plugins to update (one is GP Premium which failed – guess I need to read how to do this correctly). I restored to yesterday’s backup, but the problem persists.
Any suggestions, steps to take, etc. are appreciated!
Thanks.

July 12, 2020 at 9:40 am #1361067TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
So is it gone now when you’re logged in?
How did you add the video to the post?
July 12, 2020 at 1:02 pm #1361237LatinxHello,
Yes, with the post unpublished, the page goes back to normal.
Looks like the video was embedded this way:
<figure class=”wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio”>
then I used a command called “embed” for the link.
[ embed ]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWLr2va3hu0[ /embed ]Note – I thought this was working correctly and did not see the issue until recently.
July 12, 2020 at 7:32 pm #1361403TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperIs there any way for me to see the issue? Maybe on a staging site?
July 16, 2020 at 1:17 pm #1366059LatinxHello again, Tom.
I wanted to provide a staging site so you could check on this issue, but now I’m having trouble with setting up the staging site. :-0
As soon as I get that resolved, I’ll send you that info.
Is there a place to send the info securely (not on a public forum)?
– Thanks.

July 19, 2020 at 10:12 am #1368854LatinxIn the pre-sales contact form, I sent the login info to a staging site for my blog. On the staging site I went back and published the video post that is causing the issue.
Issue: The home page appears for a moment, and then the screen fills with a video embedded in a post.
I noticed today that a user does not have to be logged in for the video post to appear in the header.
Please view the staging site, and if needed, log into the admin side to see why this is happening and how to fix it.
Many thanks.
p.s. to send the info, I had to check a box that said this was *not* a technical support question…?
July 19, 2020 at 4:37 pm #1369079TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
That’s strange, the video is set to
position: absolute
which is causing the issue.Do you have any of the embed settings set in the block?
You should be able to fix it like this:
.wp-block-embed-youtube { position: relative; min-height: 300px; }
July 20, 2020 at 8:34 pm #1370313LatinxHi,
I started a new block and added the video link, then I commented out the code that displayed the video originally.
I am not seeing the issue right now on the site.
Please take a look and see if the home page of the blog looks normal or if it displays a video in the header.
Thanks.
