I activated Scribe theme, but the home page design and even the footer design which is in demo is not copied.

How to get the full design ?

When you imported the site template, did you also import the content as all the designed templates are in the content?

Hi, I did not. This is an existing site and I cannot add imported content like that into it. What is the way around ?

Hi Prakshah,

You will need to import the Content as well. Is there any specific reason why you wouldn’t want to add other content to your site from the import? Doing so won’t delete or override any content of your site. It will just add to it.

It would still be best to take a backup of your site before doing this.

Hi, Sorry, why would anyone add articles, pages which are nowhere related to the website? Suppose you have a health website which is generating traffic, will you add the content on the scribe demo to your site? It does not make any sense! I hope you understand where I am coming from.

Yes, we understand where you’re coming from. For some templates, the setup mainly focuses on building templates for starting sites with no content. And, the posts added are meant as sample posts that you can start from and edit.

However, to import the Elements for Scribe which helps build the overall structure of Scribe’s template, you would also need to import the Content as they are part of the Content.

Indeed, Scribe adds Articles and specifically, there are 7. You can easily delete these posts however by going to Posts > All Posts. They should be the top 7 posts recently added. If you’ll need assistance regarding this, let us know.

We highly advise though to do importing in a Staging Site.

Alternatively, the other route would be to import Scribe in a staging site or a test site, and export just the Elements from there. Then, import these Elements to your Live site.

Okay, i went ahead and imported and removed the posts. It works 🙂

Btw, two issue –

1) anyway to show author image and name on same line – right now they are one over above. I am having tough time aligning them myself in a line.
2) Way to display the author bio at the top of the post? What dynamic content has to be used to show it?

1. Go to Appearance > Elements, and edit “Single Post Page Hero”. Place the Dynamic Image Block and the Headline Block for the Author name on two different columns of a 2-column Grid Block. Example:https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuDozO2

2. You can add a Headline Block after everything in the “Single Post Page Hero. Then, set the Dynamic Text type to Author Meta. And, set the Meta Field name to description. Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/5zu2GbnD
