highlight split template

Hi - using the Split template but am having difficulty getting the "highlight" function to work. I use the highlight option on a "heading" H2 but nothing changes! if I could have the # colour code perhaps I could do it manually? BTW could you tell me where the colours are configured for the tmeplates please.

are you using a GenerateBlocks Headline Block ?
If so with the Headline Block selected, in the Colors panel, there are color options for the Highlight color.
