In an earlier support forum, I understood to remove the date from SERP by going to customizer > Layout > Blog date and disable it. It removes the HTML, hence no date in SERP too ONLY for the non-amp pages.

But how to do the same in AMP pages? There is no such option to hide the date in AMP pages.

    I’m using AMP by Automattic.

    Hi there,

I think that would be a question for the AMP plugin developers, as it will replace some of the Themes templates

    Hi David,

I want to know the purpose of creating AMP by Generatepress plugin by Tom
    https://github.com/tomusborne/amp-for-generatepress

    When should I install it?

It should be installed whenever AMP is installed. All it does is remove some of the JS functions that the theme uses – such as the Mobile Menu.

How about hiding the date in customizer > Layout > Blog date in non-amp pages and change the AMP mode from Reader to Transitional mode?
Then the date will not show in the pages and SERP for both amp & non-amp, right?

Might be worth trying that. Sorry but i don’t have a great deal of AMP experience.
