Hide Blog Author + Date

Under Customize > Layout > Blog I have tried setting Archives and Single posts to not display post date or author, yet they still display.
I got the "this page is using a Page Hero Element. Some of the options below may not apply" message when setting those to not display.
I'm not familiar with "Page Hero" elements. Do I just select the spot where it says "Author Name" and backspace/delete the text? Or is there another checkbox I should unselect inside the Page Hero settings?
I'm using the Dance template from the Site Library.

Select the Container that contains the post date and author:

I got it to work but I decided I want to keep the author displayed, how would I remake the author container/block?
You can use a headline block:
